Internet Safety Practice

If it is important that others don't know you have visited our site, there are some steps you can take to keep yourself safe. Choose your browser below and follow the instructions to remove the evidence that you were on this site. 

Make this the last action you take after you leave our site. 

Safari

In Safari, open the History menu, then click the Clear History... item in the menu. When Safari asks if you are sure, click on the Clear button.

Chrome

In Chrome, open the preferences by clicking on the Chrome menu, then clicking on Preferences... In the Preferences, go to History, then Clear browsing data..., then set the time interval. If you first visited the site over an hour ago today, then change the interval from "the past hour" to "the past day". If you think you first visited over a week ago, or don't know when you first visited, change it to "the beginning of time" to be safe. Click on Clear browsing data to clear your history.

Now it gets complicated. In the window that pops up, change the time period in "Obliterate the following items from: the past hour" to the past day, if you may have first visited the site over an hour ago. Check the Browsing history option, if it is not already checked, then click Clear browsing data.

To clear your history in Firefox, open the History menu and click on Clear Recent History. Set how much history you want to clear, ensure that Browsing & Download History is selected to be cleared, and click on Clear Now.

The Clear Recent History window lets you specify how much history to clear. Choose an interval that includes your first visit to the site. For example, if you first visited two hours ago, choose Last 4 Hours. If you visited over four hours ago, choose Everything.  Next, click on the arrow next to Details.

In the expanded details area, make sure the Browsing & Download History option is checked. If it is already checked, you do not need to change it. Finally, click on the Clear Now button.
