Victim/Survivor Services

ur goal is to offer support and provide options and resources to encourage empowerment and healing.
Services to Victims/Survivors include:

  • 24-hour advocacy and crisis counseling services to victims at area hospitals. SVC also provides advocacy and support services at police stations, court proceedings and other locations where survivors might need help. Advocates assist and support survivors, as well as provide information, resources and options for follow-up care.
  • 24-hour crisis hotline counseling and information for victims, their families or other concerned individuals needing assistance. Telephone advocates are trained to give immediate support, information and resources and are available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
  • Short-term 1:1 counseling for victims, their families or other concerned individuals in need of one-to-one support. Free and confidential services are available to people of all genders, ages 12 and above on a walk-in or appointment basis. Support counseling offers survivors, their families and friends the opportunity to talk face to face with a peer counselor.
  • Support groups are available to meet the needs of survivors, their families or other concerned individuals and help them to heal with the support of others in a safe environment.

    Support counseling and support groups are available for students age 12 and above, and can be offered on school grounds.
