The mission of the Carver County Sexual Assault Interagency Council is to ensure the coordination of a consistent, respectful, victim-centered response to sexual assault in Carver County. This multidisciplinary team follows the eight step process promoted by the Sexual Violence Justice Institute. These eight steps are taken by the team as a whole: 1) Inventory of Existing Services, 2) Victim Experience Survey, 3) Community Needs Assessment, 4) Writing Protocols, 5) Formal Adoption of Written Protocols, 6) Training, 7) Monitoring, and 8) Evaluation.
Current members of the SAIC include: Chaska Police Department, Carver County Public Health, Sexual Violence Center, ARC Greater Twin Cities, Carver County Sheriff’s Office, Carver County Attorney’s Office, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Carver County Child Protection, and Southern MN Regional Legal Services.
