SVC wants to change how people think, how they act and how they treat each other. We want a world where everyone is safe from sexual violence. For that purpose, we have brought together people from many different areas who work with victims/survivors of sexual violence, to make sure that victims/survivors are safe, listened to, protected and supported.
One of the most effective ways to improve legal outcomes for victims of sexual violence is to ensure that they receive the support they both need and deserve. SVC coordinates the Sexual Assault Multidisciplinary Action Response Team (SMARTeam) of Hennepin County and the Sexual Assault Interagency Council (SAIC) of Carver County, bringing together members of law enforcement, prosecution, forensic nurses, corrections, and other community-based agencies to provide an integrated, victim-centered response to sexual violence in our communities.
