Volunteer Advocate Training — Cohort 3 | August 2026
Are you passionate about supporting survivors of sexual violence? The Sexual Violence Center is now accepting applications for our next Volunteer Advocate Training cohort, beginning in August 2026.
Our 40-hour training program prepares volunteers to provide compassionate, survivor-centered support through SVC’s crisis services. Training includes self-paced pre-work, in-person sessions, and hands-on shadow shifts alongside experienced advocates.
What to expect:
- 18 hours of pre-work (completed at your own pace)
- 15 hours of in-person training sessions (8/4, 8/6, 8/11, 8/13, 8/18, 8/20)
- 12 hours of shadow shifts with SVC staff
Upon completion, volunteers join a dedicated team serving survivors across Carver, Hennepin, and Scott Counties.
