Sexual Violence Advocate And Victim / Survivor Talking

SVC to offer Medical Advocacy Accompaniment at an 11th Location

A new partnership is bringing more options to survivors of sexual violence in the Twin Cities. Southside Community Health Services, now located on East Lake Street in Minneapolis, is adding forensic sexual assault exams to its services, offering survivors an alternative to the emergency room that is designed to feel safer, quieter, and more culturally affirming.

The Sexual Violence Center is part of this effort. SVC advocates will be available to respond on-site when survivors request support, a reflection of our longstanding commitment to meeting survivors where they are.

As SVC Executive Director Kenosha Alexander noted, the need for this work remains high even as funding and resources across the state continue to shrink. Expanding access, in community health settings, in emergency rooms, and beyond, is exactly the kind of systemic change survivors deserve

If you or someone you know needs support, SVC’s 24-hour crisis line is available at 612-871-5111.
