SVC Featured as a Free Mental Health Resource in South Minneapolis

The Sexual Violence Center was recently highlighted in the Longfellow Nokomis Messenger as one of Minneapolis’s essential free mental health resources — a recognition of the critical role SVC plays in our community.

The article spotlights SVC’s broad range of no-cost services, including peer-based individual counseling, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, housing support, and specialized support groups for women, men, youth, LGBTQIA+ survivors, and people of color. As Executive Director Kenosha Alexander shared with the publication: “It’s nice to know there’s someone out there who will listen, who will advocate, at absolutely no cost to you.”

SVC serves approximately 1,400 people each year across Carver, Hennepin, and Scott Counties — and every service is free.
